After the call to the bar of Ontario Virginia practiced with a small firm in Stratford Ontario. Then to Toronto to work as a Provincial Civil Servant lawyer, then worked with a municipality. Moved to a large Toronto law firm doing municipal law, then a boutique Toronto firm and ended her career as a sole practitioner in Oakville. Virginia became a municipal law specialist certified by the Law Society when the specialty was approved in 2006. Highlights of her career: Elected President Ontario Bar Association Elected director Canadian Bar Association Elected Bencher of the Law Society Appointed as Queen's Counsel (now King’s Counsel) in 1982. Recipient of the Ontario Bar Association - Linda Adlam Manning Award for Volunteerism in 2006. Awarded the Law Society Medal by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2010.
